The Hogquist lab studies T cell development in the thymus. We seek to understand how thymic selection processes shape the T cell repertoire to achieve a highly effective and self-tolerant adaptive immune system.
In this context we are interested in how thymic APC are specialized to promote deletion and Treg selection. We also want to understand the unique cues that drive development of regulatory lymphocytes: lipid specific NKT cells, CD4+ Treg cells, and intraepithelial lymphocytes.
